Sverre Planke
Key Expertise: Sverre Planke is a marine geophysicist who works on the structure and processes of volcanic rifted margins and volcanic basins and the development of 3D high-resolution seismic systems, the P-Cable. The research is relevant for a diversity of scientific and applied fields, such as continental breakup processes, formation of Large Igneous Provinces, paleoclimate, mass extinctions, fluid seepage, mud volcanism, and hydrocarbon exploration.
Role in GLANAM: Co-advisor for fellows 14 (slides) and 15 (fluid flow).
