Timing, forcing and onshore-offshore correlations on the western margin of the British-Irish Ice Sheet

36 month ESR

Two secondments hosted by UDUR for 4 months in total, the first in year 2 of the project and second in year 3. The fellow will develop essential skills in numerical ice sheet modelling. During secondment 1, the fellow will receive advanced training on a numerical model of the British Irish Ice Sheet that has been developed at UDUR. The fellow will learn how to code and run the model and will learn how field data collected as part of the PhD will be used for model calibration. During secondment 2, the fellow will receive guidance in model interpretations during the later stages of the project immediately prior to write up of the PhD.
